While two new overseas publications focusing on online casinos have recently arrived in the United Kingdom, fans of online casinos will soon be able to purchase their own local newspaper. With plans to launch in March, ‘The Sportsman’ will feature in-depth analysis on sports betting and gaming at online casinos. While the publication is intended for print only at this stage, a range of broadcast sponsorship opportunities are currently being sought.
‘The Sportsman’ will be the first UK-based full-color newspaper to focus on sports betting and online casinos, including betting on poker, golf and football. Mark Maydon, head of development for well known British daily ‘The Sun’, has been appointed as the publication’s digital director and will be tasked with providing high quality information for online casinos and sports betting fans both online and in traditional print copies. ‘The Sportsman’ also boasts an experienced editorial team and a range of sports and gaming experts offering insightful opinion into the world of sports betting and online casinos.
Max Aitken, the managing director of ‘The Sportsman’ says that he hopes the publication’s local flavor will enable it to tap into a traditionally loyal market. While fans of online casinos have been spoiled for choice with the launch of two American publications ‘Bluff’ and ‘Gambling’, Aitken believes British casino fans will be keen to support a distinctly British online casinos publication with an international focus. |
