The Victorian landmark in the north of the city has seen better days and has struggled with debts since a fire in 1981 meant extensive restoration work. But if the multi-million dollar bid is to reach fruition the grand old exhibition centre once may again see a touch of the high life and could be transformed into a giant casino by 2010.Ally Pally will be one of a number of venues, including the Millennium Dome, which will be transformed into Vegas-style casinos following the imminent relaxation of UK gambling laws. The new law will approve the introduction of slot machines offering unlimited prizes. |
