| | Excellent Online Casinos News Archive| China Government Supports Online Casinos Gaming | | | Publication Date: 18 May 2005 | | China's online casinos gaming industry is flourishing in spite of (or maybe as a result of) severe government regulation. Online casinos gaming brought $297 million in revenue in 2004 and its continued growth is expected in coming years. The deputy director of the General Administration of Press and Publication of the People's Republic of China, Xiao Wei Kou, spoke during a conference on the government's part in determining China’s online casinos gaming industry, from government censorship to piracy and even encouragement of Chinese online casinos game developers.
"The growth of online casinos gaming in China introduces new ways to piracy in online casinos gaming including pirate servers and cheating that are totally illegal. The Chinese government is against those activities” said Kou. When asked how the government plans to fight these illegal activities Kou said "There are two important steps, the first step is to cooperate with other government agencies to create laws and rules regarding online casinos gaming. The second step is to cooperate with the police bureau".
Kou mentioned the exceptional growth of the Chinese online casinos gaming market. Online casinos gaming in China grew almost 50 percent from 2003 to 2004, but such a fast growth will not continue indefinitely. ”You have to understand that along with the market growth, the competition will intensify and one day the growth in the online casinos gaming market will slow down”.
