The upcoming Fairly OddParents 2: Shadow Showdown game from THQ (sequel to last years award-winning Fairly OddParents title) is now mastered and approved on all platforms and is the first title at Blitz to be developed entirely using FUSE. A further five titles (covering at least 10 SKUs) are already well into development and making full use of the companys impressive toolset. Recent enhancements to the feature set include a live network link between the editor and the engine that allows real-time manipulation and updating of game objects and debug information without the need for restart. Other new features include the provision of an interactive graphical editing environment for HLSL materials, allowing artists to experiment with multi-pass vertex and pixel shader based materials without requiring programmer intervention. Blitzs Chief Technical Officer Andrew Oliver is particularly proud of the companys latest enhancements to its middleware: In the five years since we began to heavily invest in our technology we have seen enormous improvements in the power and versatillity of the solutions that we have created. By continuing our commitment to this area of development we will maintain the flexibility and creative independence that comes from a non-reliance on licensed midleware. |
